Autism Testimonials Start Below This FormAUTISM TESTIMONIALMy Child has Autism - and Lyme DiseaseI just want to say a big THANK YOU for your website. I have been seeking God for 8 years about my daughter who has PDD-NOS. One day after praying in the morning, I went to your website and saw your post about LYME disease. I called my pediatrician to have him run a test on my daughter and sure enough she had LYME disease. Thank you for saving my daughter's life. I would have never had her tested and would have never known she had Lyme unless I saw your website. May God bless you for all your work.
AUTISM TESTIMONIALMy Autistic Child Is Communicating Due To Lyme TreatmentI wanted to tell you that my son said his first "conversational" sentence ever this weekend. (It was not repeating, labelling or asking for what he wanted) He said "I like grocery stores, don't you mommy? All the foods!"I almost cried. I know it's early in treatment, but I know the treatment is beginning to work. Thank you :)
AUTISM TESTIMONIALHe Knows That Jesus Is LordMy son is 13 with Asperger's, and I am likely an undiagnosed Aspie. When he was 3, it was his hard questions about death that eventually brought me back to the Church for answers, and hearing the Gospel there brought me back to Christ. My son started a new school this year just as I started a military deployment. He had been doing well for about 6 weeks, when he became frustrated in his Science class. His class was working on classwork and he did not start it. The teacher tryed to tell him the assignment. He became frustrated and told the teacher he knew the assignment. She said she did not believe him because she did not see him working or on the right page. He launched into a tirade of how she could not be a Christian, how all of the kids were picking on him, and was sent to the office to cool down. His only incident this year. I Skyped him and he gave me the explaination that the teacher did not believe him (that he was working) if she could not see it, that this meant she could not believe in things she could not see, and therefore did not believe in Jesus. I also found out that one of the teachers had enlisted his classmates to try to encourage him to do better classwork. This was a disaster for him, as this greatly increased his sensory input so he could not get away from it. He felt frustrated and cornered. My son was still defensive about his position until I asked him "is your teacher perfect?" When he remembered that all are sinners but Jesus that cooled him down. I asked him how his teacher would feel to be told she was not a Christian, and he realized for the first time that that comment might actually hurt someone's feelings. He agreed that he should appologize, but when I asked him later, he had not. He was too shy to approach the teacher about the subject. He said that he thought she knew he liked her and did not mean to hurt her. My son is 13, and he has let me pray with him, and is just now starting to pray simple prayers on his own about things that are important to him. He definately believes in Jesus, and his relation with him is very honest. At times when he struggles with wanting to sin and have anger, he doubts himself and his relation with Christ. But he never doubts that Jesus is Lord.
AUTISM TESTIMONIALNaturopathy And Prayer Help JuliaWhere do I begin with my autism testimonial? Our youngest child and only daughter, Julia, is autistic. She is currently 8 years old, and our journey with her thus far has been at times extremely challenging, yet equally awe-inspiring as we have witnessed God’s hand in our lives and hers. Julia was developmentally delayed from birth, and that was her diagnosis up until age 7. She was seen by a prominent neuro-psychologist who gave her the diagnosis of autism. He also confirmed ADD, OCD, and brain damage from heavy metals. Julia was non-verbal until the age of 5, uttering only the sound “ba.” She has always been extremely social and craving physical contact, so that many who worked with her were hesitant to say she was autistic. However, she has also been apt to react to frustration with extreme emotional outbursts – tantruming, screaming, kicking, spitting, biting, and hair-pulling. At one point, she looked like she had gone through chemotherapy, because she had pulled out so much hair. She was fascinated with things that had repetitive motion, and did not play appropriately with her toys. She was very destructive, and had ruined several large pieces of furniture. We had to strip her room bare of any furniture or toys for her own safety and to limit the distractions for sleeping.
By age 2, she had already undergone surgery for PE tubes, having been found to have a severe hearing loss and very tiny ear canals. During that same surgery, she also underwent an adenoidectomy, due to a noted 7-second sleep apnea. These surgeries were indeed helpful since her hearing was normalized, but had to be repeated twice more before the age of 6. By age 2 she was receiving full therapy services to including physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. Honestly, we did not see much improvement through these therapies. Something told my heart that it just wasn’t getting through and something else needed to be dealt with first before therapies could even begin to be successful. At this point, God had us move from the Washington, DC area to the Dayton, Ohio area. We could not understand why, until a year later we were connected with some naturopathic treatments for autism. Most importantly, the pastor of a large church where we attended prayed every morning at 6 am for Julia and a few other children with special needs. At first, Julia began receiving cranio-sacral therapy, and over the course of her treatments, the therapist was able to open up the ear canals and Julia no longer needed the PE tubes. She also referred us to another doctor who ran a series of lab tests on Julia and discovered several things. Julia was casein-sensitive. Julia had “leaky gut syndrome”. Julia had a very unusually high level of all sorts of heavy metals – cadmium, zinc, mercury, tin, aluminum, copper, etc. We started her on the casein-free diet, and the oral chelation treatment to flush the heavy metals out of her tissues. Then, we added the treatment for her leaky gut syndrome. We started with Nystatin to completely purge her bowels followed by a course of probiotics to rebuild the proper balance of flora. At this point, she gradually began to talk and “connect” with us. It didn’t happen overnight, but over the course of several months, her preschool teachers began commenting their amazement at Julia’s tremendous progress. Julia is now in a mainstream second grade classroom with an aide who is there for her and one or two others. We have her on a maintanence program of enzymes and probiotics, along with periodic oral chelation. She is taking Risperdal to help her control her outbursts. Academically she is on track with her peers, reading and writing on grade level. Socially, she is surrounded by mainstream friends. Her teachers often comment that Julia is the center of activity, both in the classroom and on the playground – her mainstream peers genuinely enjoy playing with her. Pretend play is an abundant part of her life. Her speech is still delayed, but moving forward. When you listen to her talk, you might guess that she is several years younger than she is - she has five years of catching up to do! We continue to be amazed at the strides she is making in her expressive language skills. She struggles with math, but so far is still on grade level. By no means would I ever characterize Julia as “normal.” However, I do believe that God directed us down the path of naturopathic treatments that drastically improved her condition such that her autism today is quite manageable and her future has a glimmer of hope. Julia’s presence in our family is having a profound impact on her two older brothers. God is using her to make them into some very fine young men. My husband and I consider it an honor that God chose us to be Julia’s parents. She enables us to experience holding God’s Hand very tightly and to see His Arms around us that much more clearly. “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well…” Psalms 139:13,14. Thank you for allowing me to share my autism testimonial about how God has worked in our lives.

I gave birth at home with no drugs. Apgars were 8 and 9 for my daughter with ASD, and 9 and 10 for my son (twin A) with ASD, and 10 and 10 for my other son (twin B).
We do not vaccinate. My daughter with ASD did get one hepatitis B vaccine at 3 days of age. The kids were breastfed virtually exclusively for at least 8 months.
Our doctor at the time had me send their hair for testing and all 3 of my kids tested high for heavy metals - but the 2 with ASD tested higher than the third who we now think he is bipolar - no kidding - when it rains, it pours!
We did oral chelation with DMSA for several rounds for the 2 with ASD (3 days on, a couple weeks off) when they were each 3 to 4 years old. I saw improvement in both kids. My son would even have bursts of language improvement after nearly every round.
Due to financial concerns, we did not complete the entire chelation course and never got to the point of adding in the alpha-lipoic acid that supposedly crosses the blood-brain barrier and goes after the metals there.
My daughter is now 10 and is almost like a typical child - just a bit quirky and has trouble with social skills and reading comprehension/abstract thought.
My son (twin A), now 7, seems to actually get worse - even though he was the more normal child early on (except for language - he could hardly talk even at 3, yet made better eye contact, etc...) He is extremely hyperactive and sometimes agressive. He is on Risperdal and a ADHD stimulant just to function. The school finally had OT look into sensory issues and that has hugely helped, but he still needs the medications.
Other than a tendency toward constipation, the two with ASD seem do not have bad gut problems. They are picky eaters somewhat, but will eat a reasonable diet.
