Colostrum
Boosts Your Immune System

Supplemental bovine colostrum
also slows the aging process and enhances weight loss.

The thin yellow fluid secreted from the mammary glands of mammals (including humans) during the first 24-48 hours after delivery before milk is produced is called colostrum.

This fluid contains many immune factors and growth factors which are essential for the immunity and development of the newborn.

Thirty seven immune factors are found in this substance which boost the immune system in various ways. These immune factors consist of the following components.

  • Lactoferrin – antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-inflammatory
  • Cytokines – interferon, lymphokines, interleukin
  • Immunoglobulins – antibacterial, antiviral
  • Proline-Rich Polypeptide (PRP) – balances immune system
  • Protease Inhibitors – protection in gastrointestinal system
  • Glycoconjugates and Polysaccharides – prevent attachment of bacteria and parasites to mucous membranes

The following growth factors are also found in this fluid.

  • Growth Hormone (GH)
  • Insulin-Like Growth Factors (IgF)
  • Epithelial Growth Factor (EGF)

Growth factors stimulate cell growth and repair tissues. They can increase T-cells, stabilize blood sugar, increase fat metabolism, and increase protein synthesis.

Your body makes less insulin-like growth factor-1 as you age. Since IGF-1 is used to burn fat, you will tend to gain weight. Since this substance has a high amount of IGF-1, it may help with weight loss efforts.

Colostrum may slow the aging process by improving overall health and by repairing the body. It can also increase a sense of well-being and vitality.

Colostrum has been safely used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. It has been shown to be helpful for rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, fibromyalgia, candidiasis, chronic fatigue syndrome, allergies, asthma, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and HIV/AIDS. Individuals with autism can also benefit from this supplement.

The bovine source is used as a supplement since it has the same substances ashuman source, but in higher amounts. Research has demonstrated that the bovine form is just as biologically active as the human form. And no allergic reactions have been documented.

Encapsulated powder supplements retain more immune and growth factors than liquid or tablets due to processing techniques.

No side effects have been documented.

The usual dose for adults for improvement of immune and autoimmune conditions is 1000-2000 mg two times per day. Children about 50 pounds should take half of this dose.
