Vitamin B Complex Is Terrific
For Your Nervous System.

Many B vitamins are contained
in a vitamin B complex supplement.

These B vitamins generally include thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxine (B6) , cyanocobalamin (B12), para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), choline and inositol.

Vitamin B complex mostly functions together in your body. If you are low in one B vitamin, the other B vitamins are not as effective. So, it makes sense to take a supplement which contains all of these B vitamins in optimal proportions.

B vitamins are essential for proper functioning of the nervous system and adrenal glands particularly during periods of increased stress . Therefore, they are extremely beneficial for individuals with autism as well as for others with neurological and chronic conditions.

B vitamins are also vital in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins since they act as coenzymes. Many chemical reactions in your body need the B vitamins in order to proceed properly.

Signs and symptoms of B vitamin deficiency include fatigue, cheilitis (crack at corner of mouth), migraine headache, anemia, burning feet, constipation, depression, anxiety, and various skin conditions.

You can not store significant amounts of B vitamins. Any excess B vitamins are excreted from your body. Therefore, you must continuously replace these B vitamins in your diet particularly with green leafy vegetables, whole grains, beans, and liver.

Also, you can lose B vitamins in perspiration and with stress. B vitamins are destroyed with cooking and are removed with food processing. Alcohol, tea, coffee, and sugar also deplete the B vitamins.

Many medications can also deplete the B vitamins. You must take a vitamin B complex supplement if you are taking these medications.

The usual daily dose for adults is about 100 mg for the major B vitamins and 100 mcg for the minor B vitamins spread throughout the day. Children about 70 pounds should take about 2/3 of this dose while children about 40 pounds should take about 1/3 of this dose.
